well should it not hatch....due to not developing I would like to try to dry the inside out somehow. Yes emu's get big
The guy that he'll be going live at should things work out...talked about us partnering to raise them together. So I don't know. LOL yes you can get ANYTHING throught the mail now!
I was going to order some Emu eggs from Ebay as well but I changed my mind.
We had ostrich's on our property (belonged to someone else) and they were just too mean to get close to. The guy that owned them raised them from chicks and he could get close to them and pet them but they wouldn't let anyone else close by.
I would just be too afraid that they would do something to one of my kids. Their claws are huge and very sharp!!!
Good luck with the egg!!
Take care,
Tami
Kids with one of the Ostrich's. They now live in a park in Youngstown.
Emu's are not timid and they do love to peck and they can kick. I wouldn't want kids to be around them. They aren't as big as ostrich but big enough! Even the neighbors llamas don't like them!
OK so emu eggs take anywhere between 48-55 days to hatch.
So tonight starts day 47...tommorrow night will be day 48!! WOOHOOOO!
But here is the exciting part................the egg is ROCKING!!!
So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE cross your fingers for me that this little guy or gal makes it out! And I promise that if it does hatch there will be many pictures.
