Emu egg (first timer)

I got my first emu egg in the mail today, I have three more arriving later this week. When I got it out of the packaging the shell has two little holes chipped out and when the egg is turned i can feel something shifting inside. Is this normal for an emu egg?

Ugh. That makes me so sad! I am opening a dispute on ebay for it. Do you think it was the shipping or the peck holes that got it?

emu eggs often get scratched in the nest, how deep are the holes?

Were the missing bits of shell in the packaging?


There was a seller last year who was sending out broken and rotten eggs... Several of the people here on the forum ended up with them.....

They are chipped out to the membrane inside, but the membrane is intact. The sloshing inside is what really freaks me out.

No shells in the package. It was damaged before shipping.
