Emu Egg Hatch-along

Still no wiggling from mine. Today would be day 34. The temp difference between the ends feels less noticeable to me now too. Weight is still on track though. Think it's a goner? So hard not knowing. If it should be wiggling by now though and it's not, that seems like enough of a sign to me. I don't know how much longer I should let it go for.

Awww I have been sooo hoping that any day you’ll come on and let us know that your little egg is wiggling away! 😓 I will be so sad if it’s not developing.

I know, me too. :(
Fingers are still crossed but I'm not hopeful.
Thanks for following! Hopefully I'll have a pt. 2, haha.
You *have* to have a part 2! I admit that this thread has perked my interest so much that I am watching all the emu eggs on eBay 😂 But I can’t get any for quite some time… I must live vicariously through everyone on here!

Don't give up on that egg! Keep it in until at least 55 to 60 days or stinking/oozing. Some people say they never see them wiggle and they still go on to hatch. It's only 20 more days 🙃 I hear you, trust me. The 2 that are on day 41 don't have any signs either, but I keep watching and turning 🤦‍♀️

Have you tried using those big pads they sell at Walmart? I like them better than puppy pads, it's what I start all of my ducklings on. I always feel weird buying them but they do work great  View attachment 4053860
Do they have a slick back? I have read people don't recommend the puppy pads because they can cause emu to slip? I went with a 54x54 washable since i had been using old towels. I am hoping another few weeks is all the longer they will be inside. Weather permitting.

Alright, haha! I'll try. Just so hard not knowing 🤣
Keep me posted on yours too. The way mine rolls is super weird when I tap it and stuff. It like wobbles really oddly and for a long time. But then it stops and nothing.

The back is I guess but I only ever use the soft white side. I get the big and small ones and then spot clean as needed. These ones are softer than puppy pads and probably gripper? I've never had any issues with my ducklings or goslings on them. The washable puppy pads are nice too, I'm just too lazy to wash them all the time 😅
I like to just toss them when I'm done.
