@Strawberry74 How are the 2 eggs doing ? Any wiggles ? any leveling out?

No wiggles, no nothing! I felt one kind of slosh the other day when turning for the last time. The other one just rolls and rolls and would probably never stop. Today is day 43. Still not even the slightest bit hopeful.

Question,

When you put the egg on the scale and whistle the numbers will go up and down like the chick is moving inside just not moving the egg. Is that an indication for movement inside ??

Sounds hopeful? Your on day 35, right? I would think you could definitely see the wiggles (if chick is awake and you stare long enough!) How is the warmth after about 5 minutes out of the incubator?

After 5 minutes the tip is hot, the other side cool. That's hopeful

It looks like I'll be incubating another 5 emu eggs. The one seller is sending 2 more out on Monday. So what else would I do, but find a few more to incubate with them. I mean if I'm going to go through 50+ days of hand turning these eggs 5 times a day, I need to make it worth my while. It's only logical

I totally get that! I still have one that leans and one that is completely flat. They both kind of roll into place and stay there . I'm pretty confident nothing's happening but the last thing I want to do is accidentally open up a developing egg and kill an embryo or i guess a pretty much fully developed chick at this point.

On another note I might have some more eggs coming. One of the sellers I bought from was disappointed that neither egg hatched and offered to replace them at no charge. She said her birds have slowed laying at the moment due to weather , but will let me know as soon as she has a few for me. As far as I know she's being honest so that's pretty cool!

What seller are you getting your eggs from?

@MGG it’s been awhile - how is the hatch going?

Not great, I don't think my egg is alive. I've been looking around a bit for another one or two eggs to try but seems like most everyone's birds are done.

Mine was doing that today too, I'm not sure what it means. It kept going back and forth between 294 and 295.

@MGG So sorry you still haven’t seen movement! I wonder if the scale number moving is any indicator of a chick moving inside?
