Well I got a 1 yr old emu that the guy thinks is a female, so have to wait and see, for a friend for Popo. The two of them seem to be getting along well and I've got the new girl( at least I'm hoping) to come up and take bread from me. She is fairly skittish overall and has got Popo asking 'Why are we freaking out? Ok time to freak out.' Makes for a very silly emu pair. So I'll let you know how goes. Also have to decide on a name for the new girl.(One that is ok if the sex-change fairy visits again)

Glad you found him a friend.

I knew they could test from blood. Hadn't thought about feathers.

Now to get my fingers on some feathers.

You just grab about four or five of the big tail feathers as close as you can to the body and yank real fast. You need them to come out with the shaft intact. Put them in a ziplock bag. Go to http://zoogendna.com/Sex_Made_Easy__TM_.html and print out a form. Mail it in with a check for $25.00 and 24 hours after they receive it, you have the results! They are very well respected in animal DNA by the way. They are the only lab my avian vet uses for all his expensive tropical birds.

Also Popo is extrmly tame. This girl is not. I can get her to come close, but not touch. Trying to get her to be calmer about me.

Oh and I'm starting to worry that she is picking on Popo. Wanted to keep them seperate for awhile, but she managed to squeeze through the gate and get in with him. I'm hoping they'll work it out.
