Hey guys I’m kinda new to this but was curious about something I have 3 golden comets and a barred rock roo I’m trying to get one of the hens to start sitting on the eggs but with no luck I put a golf ball in there nesting boxes, left eggs in there what else can I do to try and encourage being broody. Another question I let them free range is this a factor, if I left them I’m there coop would they be more enticed to sit on there eggs? Tia

Welcome from New Orleans! Broodyness is a hormonal thing, I don't think there is much you can do, except be patient and hope one goes broody for you. Some breeds tend to go broody more often than others. Sorry I can't tell you which, however you can probably find a thread here on which breeds are the broodiest. Good luck and hope you find this site fun and educational.
