Alright it is now the end of day 22. Two chicks have hatched and there is 5 more eggs that have yet to pip/hatch. All of these looked fully developed when I candled day 18 and tw were moving then. Should I help them? Temps and humidity are fine.

it you do take them out make sure you give some water with some sugar in it to perk them up. if they have pipped i would go for it, then get them food and suger water and some vitiamins . i have pretty good luck doing this, they will be weak..

Three were dead in the shell and never internally pipped, one white, one blue and I didn't eve nopen the last one. One when I candled wasn't fully developed. Then there was one that pipped from the underneath so I could not see it and it probably was pipped for a while but it wasn't able to turn to zip so it just make a really big hole and got itself really dry. Alot of fuz came off when I was trying to get it out and it keeps rolling onto it's back so I'm not holding out for it.

What can cause this type of results? My temps and humidity were great all through the incubation and hatching. Were the chicks to big to turn into position for pipping?

Might want to check the instruments you are using to measure the temp and humidity. Beyond that, if the chicks are weak, it could be something with the health of the parent strain, where extra vitamins may have helped. If they were shipped, could have been some jostling in shipping. But to be hatching on day 22, maybe it was running half a degree too cool?

The bator was running 99.4 til day ten then 99.7 til the end. The humidity was a bit on the lower side for the first 17 days, would that cause problems?

Whether I am a "veggie" or not it is always hard to lose chicks when you put a lot of effort into them. Well once these finish fluffing up I have s'more seramas being shipped out tommorrow and hopefully I'll get a good hatch from them.

I'm so sorry Corey.

Your story is making me think I need to go ahead and check my last 2 eggs now, Day 22 officially starts at midnight.
From what I can see, no pips in either one, and they looked just like all the others on day 18.

On a brighter note, I do have 5 in the brooder and a little cochin that is 1/2 zipped.
The cochin seemed very dry earlier...the membrane was very very white.....so I wrapped a very warm, moist cloth around it and it looks much better now.
