End Of Humanity Anxiety...

Danceswithwolves... you know, it's the mark of a creative intelligent person to search these things out, and to feel them - good or bad. While you're going through it now, you're learning how and where to deal with them. Here's a recommendation: Go out and find a sport - something physical that you love and look forward to 3 or 4 times a week.
Something in your body chemistry balances out with regular and FUN exercise, and it helps level a lot of anxieties (as well as so many other things!) Pick something fun, and go for it! Knitting is good, but you need to be out exchanging oxygen, working your muscles, jumstarting your endorphins, building bones and having a good time without so much of your head.

We all fear these sorts of things... but we can't let them rule our lives. Sorry if I sound like a chiche, but it's true, We can't control the future - we just have to spend every moment as well and right and fully as we can - don't waste any of it, and be present in it. Everything else will be okay.

u know I think thats a good idea hmmm..... I do like figure skating I do that once a week... what else can i do.......?????

You could join a recreational team for whatever is in your area. Do you like any specific sports? Maybe research and see what sounds interesting. it's also a way to make more friends.

You could go running or jogging around your neighborhood too.

I personally feel that "losing' is a poor situation.

I'll try my best to avoid it.

It does happen.

But, I'll be darned if I'll "roll-over". Fightin it can be the fun of living.

just a "differently expressed" opinion.

Yeah, I've done quite a bit of pacing in my day. I'm an insomniac because I can't shut my head off. Balancing the checkbook, making a shopping list, 'oh wait I forgot to turn off the porch light"... those are thoughts that keep many a mom (and dad?) awake. But, you add a fertile mind to it, and the possibilities for fretting are endless.

I have found that reading helps, I can't keep myself in books, so I've reread all of them at least a handful of times... also helps if I have a project... IE right now it's chicken research!! If I'm waiting for a call, like when my sis was driving back from Houston last night, rather than pacing and fretting and calling hospitals I got out my chicken book and started taking notes and twiddling with coop design ideas. Before I knew it she was at the door. Then there's the PTA too, I'm helping with this and that so that keeps me busy too.

Minds like ours wander, it's just what they do with spare time. But, if you focus that, even on a completely goofy project like ... design ideas for bead ornaments for next years Christmas gifts... then it can be enough of a focus to not leave enough room for focused fretting.

Jointwise... that may be worth talking to the doc about... it can be a sign of something serious! Just a small adjustment in your diet could do the trick, but better safe than sorry.

Same with stomach. It could be 100% stress, in which case see above. OR it could be something dietary (IE I finally figured out I was allergic to red dye, once I laid off the koolaid I quite tossing my cookies)... or it could be an ulcer in the making. If it is, then much better to get it looked at and treated than to let it grow worse.

Hi DancesWithWolves! Ex-worrier here. When I was younger I made myself sick worrying about the same kinds of things you're talking about. Had panic attacks, the whole package. Growing up helped and realizing that all those worries were for nothing, it didn't change anything the world kept rotating etc. Just letting you know you aren't alone, as you can see by all the replies you've gotten.

BTW - it DOES get better.

PS - I found later on that yoga and relaxation techniques worked very well for me.
