Hi
This is Esmeralda, she is 3 years old a great layer and Queen of the flock. We bought some eggs from a breeder in the North Is. (New Zealand) and our bantam incubated them for us. She is BIG, the largest of any of the barred rocks we have raised so far. Also quite tame and friendly.

Age: 5 months in this photo (now 6 mos old)
Interesting facts: Toaster was given her name (after the children's book, The Brave Little Toaster) for always being the first to try new things. She was the first to jump into my hand, the first to come out of the coop, etc. She almost died before Thanksgiving (I called my husband and told him to bring the shovel)...but she rallied & is laying like crazy!
