We're sorry there was some confusion and mistakes made with this contest. A few important updates:

1. Any guesses made to the spreadsheet between 12/3 and 12/11 will be accepted
2. The contest will close to submissions at the end of the day, Thursday 12/13
3. All new guesses must be made as a reply to this thread
4. You can change or resubmit your guess as much as you want until the end of day, Thursday 12/13

Description: This contest is to guess the total number of eggs that will be set by all participants in the 4th annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long! Each participant is to post a reply with their guess as to the total number of eggs that participants will be placing in their incubators for this hatch.

Rules:

1. The closest guess to the actual number (either more or less) wins.
2. You can only enter the contest with ONE GUESS ENTRY!
3. If you want to lock in a specific number, post it before anybody else.
4. You can change your guess to a different number IF IT IS NOT TAKEN but if you choose another one you allow someone else to take your previous guess.
5. You can change your guess as many times as you want until the end of the contest time above!

There are still eggs to be set, so the winner won't be chosen yet. Button quail eggs need to be set on Sunday, so I imagine that they won't be able to pick the winner until at the very earliest, Monday, but since some people have been posting their eggs a day late, I doubt they can get the final number until Tuesday, then they have to sort through all of the answers to find the winner, so to give the judges some time, I'd say don't get your hopes up until about xmas, lol. They'll probably have it done before then though!

I didn't even realize quail were a factor! Oh, well...

I guessed somewhere around 4k, but I'm starting to think that maybe that should've been much higher as well. I tripled the amount of eggs I had planned on setting myself! I have 70 just in my incubator, some people *cough, cough, CELTIC, cough, cough** who have stacks and STACKS of eggs! I need to go back and see how many she has set alone, lol.
