Enemies in the gate: An awful puppy

@Granny23 please do not use a shock collar on your 9 week old puppy!
If it is a training collar it is fine. Trainers use them all the time at 8 weeks of age. BUT NO SHOCK COLLARS!! They hurt your pup. Mine is a 7 month old golden retriever. And she is only on a lvl 5 on a vibrate/nick on her collar. That is the only button i ever use.

Yea, if one bird is stressed by a dog i think they all would be. It sounds like a normal chicken behavior.
I sure hope so. Cookie my barred rock will stay on her egg and whoever elses egg is there until I take them. Then she'll leave the nesting box. Today she stayed for 2+ hours but never laid anything. Only the RIRs are the almost daily layers. Goldie the buff orp is hit or miss lately too.
It's odd to get 3-4 eggs a day for so long and then it abruptly stops. The weather is beautiful and mostly warm here for the most part so I thought that was helpful.

We have no snakes around here. Just fence lizards and opossums. I collect the eggs early htthhhhhh and my hens are securely locked in at night. And my cats keep everything safe.
Glad you don't have snakes! One lady who posted here that she thought living beside a gun range was a good idea (she wouldn't have any predators) Her hens stayed startled and quit laying.
