English Breed Name

LOL
I know how is the feeling. First time i saw them i was like wth? What is that? I saw them alive on the run so make it more impressive. But they are very calm and friendly so don't need to be afraid of them.
I also thought it was Malay but if you compare both you will see some differences between them. Plus those here are taller than Malays. So I don't think they are Malays.
If you checked the website i posted earlier it says how much they cost:
The rooster (galo) worths 250 R$, the hen (galinha) 200 R$ = Total couple 450 R$
R$ 3 = 1 US$
Total couple = 150 US$

Are they expansive compared to other breeds up there?

I paid more than that for my pair of Thais...of course a chicken is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Have started hatching chicks out of these two, will post some picks soon. For anyone interested in these long legged birds, there are several places that you can aquire them, but pricing may scare some off. I can post a couple of web sites if you all want. For those who like the long legged look, but need smaller birds, there are also bantam malay birds. A good reference book is "Oriental Gamefowl" by Horst Schmudde. Shows birds of Australia, Asia, Europe, South & North America...these birds do turn heads when you walk into a show with a three foot, prehistoric looking fowl...

Hello, I translated the page into English and this is what it said:
The name “indian”, according to creative, came “of the lack of culture of the people on birds”. Manoel Barbosa says that she took some giant units for an exposition in the Farming Park and ten in each ten visitors who if admired with the transport of the roosters said: he is indian! “Not to oppose the majority, it was being indian, but the certainty would be to call it caipira giant”.

so my guess is it's Caipira Giant
