English Ivy for shade around the run?

Hi! I'd check into plants native to your area. They will require no watering or extra maintenance once established and then you won't run the risk of adding a very pretty, but invasive non-native to your yard. Good luck! We live in the South East and have had good luck with Jessamine, Trumpet Vine, and Passion Flower. The Jessamine and Trumpet Vine are perennial, but the Passion Flower re-seeds its self each year and you have to start all over again.

Great idea about the sunflowers. I was trying to think of how to shade part of the run. I can plant them about 6 inches away from the fence line then shake the seeds in. Or could I throw a whole sunflower head in with them?
