Ok so I have the English blue Orpingtons and the English chocolate Orphingtons so I took 1 hen from the blues and bred her to the chocolate roo I got Mauve chicks when they got grown I bred the Mauve hens to a chocolate roo and got a two Mauve roos and a few hens so I'm going to take the Mauve hens and breed them to the Mauve roos and I'm hoping to get all Mauve's what do you think? I posted pictures of the girls and the young Mauve roo that I'm wanting to breed to the girls,he's still young so it'll probably be sometime next yr before breeding.

You won’t get 100% mauve birds. Since Blue(Bl/bl+) is part of their genetic makeup, and not a true breeding combination, you could get a mixture of mauve, chocolate, and splash(not sure how chocolate affects splash) birds when you breed two mauves together.

That being said, 50% of the offspring will be mauve. The other 50% will be that mix of chocolate and splash.

Edit:
They are stunning though.

Your birds look beautiful. I’m incubating some mauve eggs now hope my babies look beautiful like yours. I was warned that I will get brown, splash, or mauves so I agree with iliketurkeys.

You should get some mauve splash too! This is my mauve splash girl, Coco, she’s so pretty 😍

Mauve, chocolate and mauve splash are the prettiest array of Orpington colors! Your birds are beautiful!!

Coco is super beautiful. I’ve got 9 days left to hopefully join the Mauve crew! This is actually my first incubation. I’m very new but I’m also not good at waiting so every day feels like a million. I sure hope at the end I’m a member. Thanks for sharing. 😍💝🥰

Thank you!! I agree 😍 she’s also such a sweet girl 😍 Good luck with first hatch! It is so hard to wait and worry! Hope you are a member soon too ☺️❤️

Yep. But, if you get a mauve splash rooster out of your mauve x mauve breeding, you can put him over chocolate hens and hatch 100% mauve babies.

She’s the girl on the left that’s sort of light brown 🥰
Omg so precious! I just hatched a few different orpington chicks (buff, chocolate laced, silver laced and mauve?) but can't figure out which chicks will be what color once they feather out other than the buffs of course.
