Engorged crop

One of my buff orpingtons crop is VERY full....the size of a softball. Scary. I can feel the grain in it. I'm guessing something is lodged and blocking food from passing. I've heard crops can burst which can be fatal for chickens but I need help. I've tried messaging it but what else can I do to help move things along? Is there something I can feed her? Yogurt...etc? Help. Thx

Welcome to BYC. Very carefully, check her vent with a well lubed, gloved finger for a blockage there. If you don't find one there, it's probably higher up.

Just leave her alone for now, bring her inside a reevaluate her in the morning.
