I know that you can get fertile eggs from farmer's markets, and health food stores, but could it be possible to get fertile eggs from major grocery stores?

Wouldn't matter what breed, I would just like to know.

Oh, cool! You're getting awfully close! Keep us posted? The vegetable market down the street often has "farm eggs" and they sell them off the tables, not even refrigerated. I wonder if the farm has a rooster???

Thats too cool, do you know what kind you are expecting......I have a trader joes near by but once my eggs hatch tomorrow, I am going to hide my incubator from my self till spring!!! LOL

TJ's is an amazing store chain which began in Pasadena and seems to be spreading across the country

They used to have closeouts from other stores (I once got a box of 2 oz Macadamia Nut liqueur bottles for super cheap-never see that any more), and now have unique grocery items as well as staple food items.

Sorry Napa, was out of town for the night, then busy getting the goats to the state fair!

I don't know about the regular Whole Food eggs, but our Whole Foods started carrying eggs about 6 months ago, loose in the produce market from a "local farm".

About 3 months ago I went on the Raleigh Back Yard Coop Tour and met the woman who was selling those eggs to this particular Whole Foods, and she had Mottled Java's. So these are not Whole Foods cartoned eggs but eggs you buy ala cart in the produce dept. That's what made me so excited, I can't help but think they must be fertile, and it would be definitely worth it to me to buy a half dozen in the spring, and crack one open to check, OR just stick them in the bator for 7 days.
