Enlarged yolk 5 day eggs?

I had to leave my house for two days and relied on my family to take care of the eggs while I was gone. Well, I came back to the incubator smelling burnt and the temperature reading at 103°F?? I left the incubator open to “air out” a bit and decided to candle the eggs. When I left they were on track with being on day 3. Some how they became extremely porous and the yolk seemed to have expanded? is there any hope?

It is a chicken egg, but the shells are a deep brown. Should I wait until day 8 to discard them?

What does the top of the egg look like near the air cell? Was your temp 103 in still or circulated air? Is that according to what built the bator or are you using a calibrated thermometer? What temp are ya at now and where are you keeping humidity? Which bator you using? Got your plugs out?

If you are new to candling or incubating, I would probably give it until day 10 before cracking open and checking for fertility/quitting. Some of my very dark eggs go all the way to lock down, if they pass the sniff test and don't exude any rotten odor. How many other eggs have ya got incubating? Do they all look the same as that? When you say deep brown.. as in Marans 4 or better? From your flock, shipped?

I know sometimes temperature fluctuations cans cause deformities in embryos that do survive. Other times not. Examples would be ducklings hatched without eyes, or toes bent.. folded over so that walking/scratching/roosting becomes difficult and uncomfortable maybe even painful with age. Have you already considered how you will treat these types of conditions?

The air cell looks fine except in one that became detached. I’m using a still air little giant incubator until I’m able to buy a new incubator. I haven’t bought a separate thermometer yet. My family members had used the incubator before with a +90% hatch rate so I assumed the bator has been reading a correct temp. The temp is back down to 101°F with a 45-50% humidity steadily.

None of the eggs have developed an odor so that’s a plus lol. There’s nine in there. I definitely wouldn’t say they’re as dark as Maran. (“deep brown” wasn’t the best description I could’ve used ) They’re my flock’s eggs. They all look the same except for one. I recandled today, the eggs seem to have a black dot within the dark mass. It looks like an embryo’s eye when I compare with other Day 6 photo. I’m just confused as to why I haven’t seen the veins.

I have not considered how I would treat those conditions. That’s terrifying realizing how many things can go wrong through the incubation period.
