The xylophone might be amusing until it became incredibly annoying. I'd beware of any bird or cat toys as chicken beaks are incredibly strong. Any materials that can exploit their natural tendency to scratch and forage for their feed would be great. Open a bale of hay, give them deep composting litter in their run, plants to munch on.
