Mine don't like any type of pepper...green, yellow or red..

I threw some pepper scraps to them thinking they would love them..they ran up, gave them a taste then turned around and walked off..

I think it's anything that has a strong taste or odor is avoided. My girls won't eat my hydrangeas, roses, basil, onions, peppers, or geraniums, and avoid a bunch of weeds that I know have strong smells (like wakerobin--wild geranium).

Corn on the cob. I had some corn that had been in the fridge a bit longer than I wanted to cook it for us but was still technically "good" (no mold or anything). I put it out for them and they ignored it, so I left it and came back later that afternoon and only saw one. Looked around and found they had *buried* the other one!

Plain homemade. Make up a gallon for less than $4, and they get it with bread, veges, chopped apples this week (got a bag out of the produce waste bin where I can harvest pretty much what I want for free. Yogurt and soft white bread (I won't eat the stuff, but buy a trash bag of bread for a buck from the bread store) is the favorite treat second only to watermelon.

Failures include celery, carrots and cold cereal. If any of those get in their treats, they look at me as if to say, "And you eat this? Who you're trying to kid."

Absolute feeding frenzy, 12 chickens consumed the chopped raw giblets from the T-day Turkey in less than 3 seconds.

Mine like old garlic bread (that has been baked and forgotten in the aluminum foil for 3 days. Yuck. They get in fist fights for it. On the other hand, they won't touch peppers (red or green).

Mine eat ANYTHING. They get all our leftovers and my parents' leftovers and cleanings from the fridge/freezer, etc. If we have an event at work with leftover/stale food nobody wants guess who gets it? I'm pretty sure they're breaking into my house and emailing family members to invite them for more frequent visits (= more leftovers). If I show up with a plastic grocery bag it probably wouldn't matter what was in it- they would want it. A couple of my ninja chickens will actually jump up and try to rip the bag open/out of your hand before you have time to open it. Mind you, they have free choice of unlimited food 24/7 and plenty of bugs etc. in their pen but you would think I never feed them.... I'm fairly certain if I were to fall down in the pen it wouldn't work out good for me......

My mother in law's constantly bringing over things she's found stuffed in the back of her freezer; old bread, cookies, doughnuts, last night's brussell sprouts.
But it's the ninja chickens jumping up to snatch whatever's in that plastic bag that is so familiar!
A couple of them have even dipped their beaks into my Coke Zero and/or Constant Comment tea as I'm sitting on the porch steps watching them. They look at me funny, try it again, shake their beaks, try it again, and gabble at me. Then try it again. Silly chooks!
