Epic FAIL treats......

I have no failures. They eat EVERYTHING. Even carrots that are in my vegetable gumbo soup. When i give them yogurt with the fruit in it. They eat the fruit first and then finish off the rest. Takes them twice as long to eat cause they wipe their beak with every bite.

I just thought of one that my chickens refused!

Pasta of any sort -- Spaghetti was the worst. They flat refused to TOUCH spaghetti noodles. I tried more than once...ended up having to go dig the spaghetti noodles out of the dirt. Ew.

Haven't found anything they will not eat!

When I open the door to the run/coop, I must have something to toss into the run so I can get in!

I have learned I must shuffle my feet trying to get through them; usually there is someone who is screaming because I stepped on their toes or I shut the door on someone...have visions of a beheaded chicken!

Each morning now they love it when I come out with my large pot full of individual 4oz cans filled with alfalfa pellets that I have soaked in hot water to softened (very long pellets...could not buy meal) and then added homemade yogurt & a lil crushed red pepper and whatever else in the kitchen that needs to be taken out of the frig/freezer. This morning it was 3 bananas, some English peas and green beans and 1 1/2 pancakes.

DH always says they act like they have not eaten in a month...I tell him they are hogs with feathers!

Jell-o. The green stuff. Had some in the fridge that no one was going to eat, so I put it out in the run. Pecked at it a few times, but just walked away. I left it there for a while thinking they were just weirded out by something new, but no, they just wouldn't touch it. I took it out before they spilled it all over!

I can't get them to eat BOSS. I keep throwing it out but the wild birds are eating it instead. Wish they would eat it!

Carrots. I sometimes give them a pile of pasta with small pieces of sliced carrots mixed in. They will eat every bit of the pasta and leave the bowl empty except for the carrot slices.

Tomatoes, any kind of pepper and ravioli are a no go here.

When I moved some concrete stones from under their waterer, I found a ton of earthworms of all sizes. Wow! I thought--what a treat. So I called them over. Only the BA (who is the best forager ever) took notice and gobbled them all up. The other 3 wandered over, looked, and then wandered away.

They'll eat grapes if I cut them in half or squish them. They're not crazy about lettuce greens or cabbage, tho' shredding the cabbage helps. But then I found out the dogs were running out when I wasn't looking and eating the cabbage--no wonder they stunk up the bedroom that night! The dogs will eat things they'd never even considered before, fopr no other reason than to keep those @!#%$^! chickens from getting it!
