Willow hopped of the perch and stretched out her wings. Most of the pullets and hens had laid this morning already, apart from that old brown hen, who hadn't laid for over 4 days. Willow climbed into the old hens nest and layed a perfect dark brown egg. She was prepared to even lay in others nests if it prevented them from being culled, or at least give them a bit more time. She trotted over to the feeding and watering station and got her fill.

Guack waddled out of the coop and climbed in to fresh, clean water of the kiddy pool. After a few minutes of preening she went to eat from the trough. She sighed and stared out at the exciting wilderness and awaiting adventures that were just the other side of the chain link fence.
