(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am new to chickens, however, I have not gotten any chickens yet. I have perkin ducks on my pond and a few are sick and I need to figure out how to fix before they all get it and die. I have lost 2 ducks already.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 0 chickens, 8 ducks, 2 geese.

(3) What breeds do you have? Perkin the white ducks and I have no idea about the geese. They are grey and white.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? Soon I will be raising chickens for eggs and meat. Different breeds for eggs and meat.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I am wanting to homestead, building my own raised gardens. I would like to also raise Quail and goats or sheep.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I have 3 girls and 1 boy. I have two dogs and live out in the country on 18 acres.

Hello, and welcome! Glad that you joined! You might have to have a sample of your pond water tested. They recently had a bunch of duck's die over here on a public park pond. They found that it was some kind of algae bacteria or something that was in the water that cause botulism. They can also get it from the soil, or dead fish that have maggots.
