Hi, I just drove 3 hours to pick up 2 EEs today, when I got home & let the girls out, one of them flew over my fence... I generally let my girls free range in my fenced in yard & was hoping to clip their wings so they wouldn't fly away, but she was so skittish & nervous, she wouldn't let me near her. We turned our backs for 5 minutes & she flew away & we can't find her. Will she come back on her own? Her sister is still here & seems happy.. Will she get hungry & know where to come back to? She was only here for about 2 hours...

Nevermind! She came back!!!

I just got a new hen a week ago and was waiting to let her free range because I was afraid she wouldn't come back. My kids let her out by accident yesterday and I haven't seen her since. Better luck to you. I am mostly concerned about the safety factor as opposed to the coming back. I'm hoping that maybe someone finds mine and keeps her so she will be safe. Leave a light( flashlight works) in the henhouse and leave the door open in case she comes back at roosting time.

Thank you! The minute I posted this, I looked out into the back yard & there she was, at the fence. We'd been looking for her for HOURS! And she chose that very moment to reappear. I guess this forum is good luck!
