Escargot.

Yes that is how they are served, in a plate with little holes. HAHAHA!!!! The reason they are so slippery is the BUTTER! HAHAHA!

Ok I am going to be going home to Wyoming the day after Christmas and there is a restaurant there that serves them, which may seem a little weird but the chef is from Lousianna and he is awesome! I will make sure I go there and try them, and if they are terrible I will wash them down with a very yummy filet mignon!

I don't think I have ever come across a restaurant that serves escargot where it wasn't good. Lacking in garlic, yes, but still good!!!

But no more pig snout.

Pig snout is gross and so are chicken feet. I think calamari is like chewing on tire dipped in ranch.

I went to a really high end restaurant where I tried wild boar and elk and all sorts of yummy things, (the place was delicious) then the escargot came and I tried it and BOY was I disappointed! They were disgusting! Tasted like a dirty rubber tire covered in butter...

Nope... but i hear that goood stuff too!
You ever have it?

Conch is good sliced thin and fried like clams or make it up like clams casino

Abablone, needs to be sliced thin and is great coming off a grill.

I don't suck anything down raw

I grew up with the Deleware Bay on the left, Atlantic Ocean on the right, Cape May and all the intercostal waterway to the south. Worked as a clam shucker one summer. Had arms like Popeye by the time I was done. Another summer, I worked on a friends boat pulling crab ports from dawn to dusk. We don't get Abablone or Conch around there. Plenty of Blue Crab, and rock lobsters.

LOL, my friend who owns the Chinese restaurant has a little girl who is now 12 yo, but when I first met her at 6 yo she told me her favorite food was chicken feet. I thought she was joking, but then we went to dim sum and

she was not joking! I was the only non-Chinese person in a room of about 400 people and I swear every single person watched me eat a chicken foot, I think they wanted to see if I would choke on a bone or just gag from the nasty chewiness of it.

Filet Mignon is a good chaser for escargot.

Rubbery means way over broiled.

You know I cooked abalone for years and for some reason never ate it. Don't know why either. You have to knock it around though really to make it tender with bigger slices.

Calamari can get chewy, but if it's made right it's really good. Never tasted it with ranch though. I like it with really spicy cocktail sauce.

I think any seafood that's rubbery is just to well done.

Oh and I like octopus too. Ate it the first time when I was 9 and my little boyfriend's dad made fried tenticles. LOL Deep fried, tastes like chicken! LOL

OH and I forgot to mention.

Most times escargot at restaurants are actually not made fresh there. The a lot of times are frozen and broiled as needed, so depends on their suppliers.
