Essential oils in coop to deter pests

I would be careful with it. When I have fresh herbs from the garden I will throw them in the bedding after I clean the coop but EOs are concentrated and cedar for sure isn't good for chickens. I would be more comfortable using them in the run than the coop

This has cedar oil in it, so I will look into something else for pest deterrence. I usually open the windows and air out the coop after I spray it just in case it's too concentrated. But I'll look into other products so I don't have to wonder if it's safe. I could even just mix a homemade spray with lower concentration of EO and no cedar in it. Thanks for your response!
