I have 6 turkeys that were hatched June 4th at the hatchery and picked up by me June 5th so they have been together from day one....not that that makes any difference in most cases...just sayin....;)

2 white, 2 bronze, 1 blue slate, 1 royal palm. Today was the first altercation I have witnessed.

Here are the two whites. The one at the top of the photo is the alleged bully.

This photo was taken about 10 minutes after the "fight"....best buds again. The white one at the top got all strutted up and just literally went for the throat of the bronze right next to him now in the photo! He grabbed the bronze's wattle with his beak and it almost looked like he was going to break its neck!

Anyway, shame on me for not doing as much research before I got them like I did with the chickens. I've been searching and reading old threads but still having trouble....I know how to handle roosters...some of mine get along just fine, others, well let's just say I'm working on coop #5 for a reason.

Is it the same for turkeys?

Also, I have seen both whites strut up and the royal palm, but not the bronzes or blue slate. Is it too early to tell sex?

Thanks for any input!

I've got the same problem they fight for time to time. I wound up with 5 toms and 2 hens in one pin.
The strutters are probably toms. momentary seperation does not help the fighting because when you put em back together they jus go back at it then after while there friends again?

I know. I grabbed up the bronze and took it away for a bit and I was going to put him in an extra large dog crate, but decided it wouldnt be such a good idea. I put him back in a few minutes later and there was a slight altercation but within minutes they were best buddies again!

So far all is well again!
