(4weeks)
7/11 Winnie has gone from following Esther around to constantly asserting her dominance over her.
She is about half the size of Esther but is defiantly more aggressive

Esther continues to be the more friendly toward people

Their head feathers have really started to come in over the last 48 hours and the pinkish color on Winnies comb is beginning to get worrisome.
Another worry is the loose poop they have had, my older chickens had loose poop but it was neither as often or as foul smelling: any thoughts are appreciated.

Barg, the only thing I can think of to help you is to mix some yogurt into their feed. I do this often with my little ones. I know it helps humans so surely it will help these two? Please keep posting how it goes with them. Good luck.

I also started cooking some rice and feeding them some of that, its supposed to firm up their poo and it worked wonders for mine. My ee had a real prob with runny poo, I think cuz she is such a nervous ninny.

Anyhow, hers was extremely runny (she also drinks a LOT more than the other bird) and it worried me no end, but she seems to be fine now and her poo is firm now that she is almost grown up.

The Tractor/ run extension is mostly finished.
Tomorrow, weather permitting; the chicks will be going on their first confrontation with the older chickens.

Not knowing of the impending confrontation, the chicks sit in their brooder.

While the four older pullets await the arrival of their new members
/quads.jpg
Clockwise from the top: Emerald, Dominaek, Hazel, and Mrs. Nezbit

The pullets will be about 13 weeks while the chicks are just about 5 weeks. The chicks will be in the run extension, separated from the main coop and the other chickens by a wall of 1/2 inch hardware cloth.

Keep watching for the exciteing conclusion
