I completely understand the not time issue, I just thought you had already done it.I had intended cleaning out my coops AND cleaning my house this weekend, but, the weather (WIND) and the fact that the wind snapped the electrical pole off at the base and I had no electricity while my husband tried to find a new telephone pole on a Saturday, kinda screwed up my weekend.
I had two old birds pass on the last few weeks, so when I intergrate in a few weeks myself, it shouldnt be so stressful on them.

Gl on your integration, sorry about your other birds.

Today Esther spent most of the day out in the run, so it seems like things are going back to the way they were.
Of coarse they still arn't accepted by the older ones, but at least she does'nt seem terrified enough to run into the coop.

I'm not sure what started that whole thing exactly.
Two of the older chickens have stopped laying the last couple days; of the four of them, three are laying and one has not laid at all.
I'm not sure why the one isn't laying at 25 weeks or why the other two stopped.

I guess I'm glad I didnt seperate them, they arn't a happy family but at least they are back to almost tolerating each other.
I have a feeling things are going to get better in the next couple weeks, we will see.

oh no! what happened to all the pics?!

oops... figured that one out...

Comb Watch 18 weeks old

Comparison of the older girls combs when they were 17 weeks old, to the younger ones at 18 weeks.( I didnt have a good pic of the older ones combs at 18 weeks)

A Shot from last week@17 weeks

They seem to be getting closer to integrated

winnie is still the more confident.

She does get a little nerveous when the big girls come up from behind.

During the last week, Esther has gone through periods of Fear, she seems to go back and forth on it, but for a few days she was hideing in the nest box Again, and it was getting to the point that I almost seperated them Again, but this time it was because she was pooping on the eggs.

I think they are getting closer to integration, but very, very slowly.

As far as I can tell, Hazel Still has'nt laid an egg at 26 weeks.
Esther and Winnie are now 18 weeks so I'm keeping a close eye on their combs and wattles; that will be the main focus until they lay.
