I'm pretty sure that most people have seen the subject line of this thread so many times now that they just by-pass it.

It is my intention to have a complete photo history for others to use as a reference. With that in mind, i hope no one is annoyed when they see the post come up in the recent column every few days..... or so

At this point I'm just not sure how its going to play out.
Most likely, somewhere between 8 and 10 weeks.
It all depends on how they grow and what exactly happens with our vacations this summer.

The chickens, large and small, like to go to the wall and check each other out.
I don't think the older ones see the younger ones as smaller then them.
I do think they are getting used to each other and want to get to each other but, it may be that the older chickens just want into the extended run where there is more greenery.
It's all speculation at this point though, But the time should be coming soon.
I'll be giveing the little ones a temporary coop in about a week and at that time they will be outside full time, but still seperated until their size is a bit closer to the older ones.

I think your postings of your chickens is great. Others with chicks the same age or younger will benefit if they are newbies. I for one, love seeing them grow up.

I just caught on to this. Barg - it's great. I waited awhile then watched it from beginning to end. I'll wait a little while longer, then I'll look thru the whole thing again!

Thanks ozark,
Yeah, that was the idea.
While im posting I dont expect people to reply with, "wow cute chicks" everytime I post a pic, but it is nice to get something once in a while just to keep the thread alive

Oh and BTW, the chicks poop problem has largely cleard up.

Thanks luna,
Personally I tend to read things in small bits, thats why I added an index on the first post, so people could go strait to what they were looking to see.
I really wish more people would make some posts like this, I guess we give what we wish we could get, eh

It's not a camera trick, but if you paint the wire with black enamel paint it will virtually "disappear." It won't reflect the light as much and you'll be able to see in better -worked like a charm when I had parakeets!

Lovely pics though -they grow so fast!

Yeah, I've got some black paint, I might do that but I have a few other things to do to the coop first and I can't seem to ever get to those either

When you say you had parakeets... I assume budgerigars or some other parakeets?

I used to raise bugies, the show quality ones, I also had a couple african ringneck parakeeets, and my pet, the african brown headed parrot named orville.
