I'm starting my foray into chickens with three feed store chicks bought on Tuesday, March 5. They are Pearl the Buff Orpington, Ruby the Welsummer, and Opal (who was labeled an Ameracauna but I have since learned is really an Easter Egger). I'm interested in eggs only, not meat, and hope that none of my chicks turn out to be roosters since I'm not relishing the thought of culling them. As a child we have RIRs and BRs so I wanted to try something new! My fiance and I started their coop yesterday. We're turning an old cabinet into a coop with a run. We'll probably finish it tomorrow!
