That one was mr saddi's solution, but it works fab. (he pretty brilliant, but can't praise the man too much or else he gets sloppy)

Just updating the thread. Finished hand quilting the Jewel Box lap quilt today.

My quilting isn't as good as it used to be--once I was accused of machine quilting a baby quilt when I had no idea how to use one. That won't happen anymore, though--I call my current style "Morse Code Quilting"...you know, long, short, short, short, looong, LOL.

That really happened. Once upon a time a friend of ours was making brooms and selling them at mountain fairs. He was my agent for my hand pieced and hand quilted items and sold them alongside his brooms. A woman read the tag and argued and argued with him that it could not have been hand quilted.

..I can relate to that..for me its a combination of the eyes not being what they used to be and my finger developing little spurs..can't wear the thimble as long..I have resorted to using some of the Amish ladies to do my quilting....but your stitches are still beautiful!!

Wow, Cyn, that is fabulous!! I just love the black fabric that you picked. I think the subtle floral pattern in it had a prettier effect than a plain black fabric would have. Gorgeous!
