Euskal Oiloa ( Basque Thread)

I will take any roo that is unwanted if the price is right :) We do not buy grocery store chicken anymore. I need another breeder so I can spiral breed them but I will not invest a lot in it. I can always hatch one out but would rather have one not from my original stock.

My Basque boys are finally starting to crow and.....mount the hens. *rolleyes* I may have even gotten a couple of pullet eggs from my ladies as well. Pictures to come...

It won't be too long before you can hatch some.

I was trying so hard not to put anything else in the incubator(s), but alas ......

My Red 'gal

Greyish/white pair

Tabasco...yes that is his name! He is twice the size of the other roosters and still growing!!

I love that name "Tabasco!" So cute! And what a handsome boy he is!

Yesterday, Spots (our newest pullet from Ron) decided to roost on my boyfriends are while he was sitting down. It was the sweetest thing. She is definitely amazingly sweet but the others are really awesome also. Chema, our rooster, is like a stuffed animal.

I like that name also. I'm trying to give mine Basque names. I have "Ed", short for Ederra, which means beautiful (for my pretty rooster), "Zuria", or white, for my other roo that I sometimes refer to as Mr. Anemia, and the hens: Marroi (brown, aka brownie), puntu (dots), and iluna (dark).

Iluna was the darkest chick, but now she is actually quite light in color, but she acts somewhat like a lunatic, so the name will probably stick. The hardest thing is going out there and trying to remember their names. I'm horrible with languages! :D
