Makes me happy to read so many people see the qualities and beauty of the EO chicken

I'm going to ask a friend from an spanish forum. He lives in Andalucía, is australian and has Leghorn. He imports eggs from many countries.
I have experience only with shipment of plants and seeds to Centro and Sudamérica, and takes a lot of time by Correos. Besides in some countries aren't allowed to enter Fauna or Flora.
But I think it's possible to send eggs by private companies.

Now the temperatures aren't good to send eggs. I think that October is the ideal month for it.
This week Spain seems the hell! Bilbao has usually a soft temperature as today, but the last Sunday and Monday was a hell.

That is great Sebastopol. I am fascinated to learn the feathers are used in fly tying for fishing too! Thanks for posting this information. I hope you hear good news from your friend in Andalusia. After seeing those beautiful show pictures, I`d love to fly over and see a show!

I agree BlackBart, isn't it great to have a breed we love, appreciated? It`s just been slow coming!

It may have been slow coming but I have a feeling that in the next few years there will be a lot more of them in the US and Canada. Especially if Skyline and I can do what we are currently looking into and he continues his wonderful efforts in breeding/introducing them to the US. It is an exciting thing to see all those who love these birds.

It's funny, we knew we liked them, but it wasn't till we get organized as new chicken owners with building breeding pens and shipping eggs that we realised they were universally liked and the temperament seemed to be great no matter who hatched them! I bet this would have happened a year sooner but for the purchase of a Brower top hatch instead of any other incubator! In 2009 we fried over 50 Euskal eggs from our trio in the darned thing. A few of our earliest fans of them, I just let them try them in an egg swap, or put them in with others when they asked for "something different" I am glad I did. This is so cool. I am glad you are so committed to them, you'll see the attraction when you get them!! It feels great to be a part of this!

Hey, Just want to give a shout out to the folks who took the time and effort to start the EO site. It looks as though Skeffling did alot of work... CHEERS.....I registered yesterday. It is difficult to imagine culling down to one breed. I love my Minorca, Andalusians, Penedesenca, Ameraucana, and Marans groups. Somehow, even without ever having seen one in person, I am deeply attracted to the EO. Partly the Spanish/ Med. connection, partly the accepted diversity within varieties. I am eagerly awaiting the start of my EO project.

Also, Skyline, I appreciate your willingness to make these available at a realistic price. $250 for a Buff Laced Brahma egg anyone? LOL. It seems as though there are 2 types of folks in this poultry game. One group peruses the net constantly, searching for "the next hot bird", hoping to profit at the hands of others. Nothing wrong with that, though it does not seem to serve the purpose of creating genetic diversity and perpetuity. The other group, which Skyline and Skeffling clearly represent, wants to get the genes out. Share the joy of a new found breed without gouging. It seems a wise idea. Create larger gene pools, Work with others on the breed, share info and experiences.. Good on You, Skyline. Big ups, Skeffling.
