I hope I am in the right place but I just got some chicks (it was kind of an experiment) I like my EE because they lay really well during the CO winter, and i love my Marraduna rooster they are huge and pretty colour, I don't have any MB hens so I decided to breed my EExMB and got the chicks and to my surprise you can sex them as day old by their colour, so will this make them sex link babies.(I don't know what was the mis on the EE so maybe there is some sex link I really don't know, the only think I know is that this babies are sure sexable just by looking at them)
I did vent sex and energy sex so I am pretty sure of their sexes and then I compare colour and they are really different.
I want to fallow up in this babies to see how well they grow and how they lay (maybe I get some kind of olive eggers a well).
Should I start this in another thread.
BTW pardon my English I am Spanish speaker.

Ive got one rooster and 1 hen right now - I think I would like some more ...but no roos

The brown is not dark enough for Olive colored eggs. They will be a lighter shade of green usually. Cross the EE with Marans or if you are in Spain, Penedesencas.

The barring gene can make sex links.

I knew about the OE, I have Isbars for that.
It is really hard to find a good penedesenca (or somebody that wants to send chicks) and I don't care for Marans. So I went with the Isbar.
I was posting this because Aurora Springs was asking in post #2461 about been able to make sex links.
My clients like colour on theirs eggs so wath ever colour they trow I am happy but will be great to have sex links, so get pullets for eggs and rooster for meat since the MB are huge.And later maybe put some real Ameraucana to see if colour intensify.
Now I am just hoping for peacomb babies.
Well is a fun project after all
I have the pics as one day old and will try to take pic at different stages to see how colour changes and the grow rate as well.

Yes! I have a Partridge Pene that is about to lay her first egg and Crele Penes hatching. You also get olive color from Wellsummer and Barnvelder chickens. Both are very nice and friendly breeds.

I'd love to hatch and raise a couple of these birds. I have so many breeds, but I'd love to add a dual purpose breed in with my flock. Someone from Quakertown has eggs for sale and I think it's SBR.

Marraduna is one of 5 Basque chickens. It is the only one in America and they came here via Canada, so they do fine in the cold. They also do very well in the heat.
