Mine have been the nicest roosters so far. I had 5 last year and one of them is in a breeding program now. The Egg Farmer is amazed. Chema is the nicest and biggest Rooster he has worked with yet.The comb is getting red now. I'll take a picture today so that you can see. It's about 2 weeks old in this pic. I really like the temperament of it. So far.I haven't had much luck with roosters that were nice.
....How are the Oregon Seven doing? What sexes did you end up with?? If they are eating that jelly and beets.............they HAVE to be doing GREAT!!!
Thank you for the update! They are doing great Mike, but no beets or jellies for them. Bolted lettuce, watermelon and cucumbers are the goodies around here now.
We have 3 boys and 4 girls. One boys comb is flopping over already, the other looks nice but wants to pull the hairs on my arm. Since I don't have much hair when he gets one I know it. The girls are sweet as can be. Our favorites in personality are the two that started out white. If I can't figure out how to keep another rooster here, I have 5 now, they will have to go to a special home.
I move them in each night to make sure they are safe from the coons, foxes, etc. It is so nice to just lean in and pick them up and not have to chase them like the hatchery babies!
I'll try and get some updated pictures for you.
