Euskal Oiloa ( Basque Thread)

Doing well, thanks. I have decided to wait plus my wife is doing a bantam BCM project. Trying to focus on the EOs and black and blue LF Plymouth Rocks. Plus the pigs and the garden. Then 2300 feet of fence..... :)

I feel your pain, man... hang in there!

I'm wondering if I have too many cockerels.
1- Welsummer
2- EOs
10- ladies

Right now we have:
1-EO cockerel (back-up with white legs) with 3 Orpington pullets
1-EO cockerel (main man) with 2 EOs, 3 Welsummers, 2 other pullets
1-Welsummer cockerel that wants to be with the Welsummer girls and such, but ends up without any pullets because he jumps the fence and struts around trying to impress the girls who are behind fences.

I'm in need of more EO pullets, but limited by space.
I think I either need to get rid of the back-up EO or Welsummer cockerel to make everyone happy.

When free ranging happens it crazy here!

Where could I source some EO pullets? I'm trying to find some girls for my Rooster.
If anyone has ANY they are willing to let go please pm me. Thanks.

Try pm ing Ron , he seems to have a pretty good handle on what EOs are doing in CA.

Unless you have in mind a REALLY long roadtrip, in that case I can help you!

Several months ago there was a post about someone having Basque Hens laying eggs in California. I think the person was on the coast. I will ask today when I go to the chicken party in Turlock.
