Yes, since you have the two colors you probably have one of each.

You will know for sure at about 6 weeks old.

I was very concerned that my big fella, one of two roos that I kept from the Easter hatch, was showing signs of aggression - he was following me around, and when I would look at him he would stamp his feet and ruffle his feathers. I held him down a few times, and after he just walked away looking hurt. After watching him one day around the hens I realized that he was doing his hen dance for me - he was just very clumsy (probably due to his youth and big feet).

I had to catch a few hens the other day and they kicked up a big fuss. Next thing you know he is running up between my legs and pecking - not me but the hens! He is really a charactor.

If I'm wrong and you have only one pullet, I'll still be batting .500.

@ Ron - My chooks all come running to my gas mower because they know it has grass clipping in that big white baggie thing! I have to be careful not to make shredded tweet. It's funny what they can get used to. Mr. Black attacked my son the other morning while he was walking with the kitchen wastebasket. Rooster jumped so high that he came down in the trashcan... talk about surprised! Both of them were.

I give mine grass clippings too!

The lawnmower is cordless and When I move it to the back it is off. It is so funny watching the SG Dorking jump on it! I made me laugh when he went after my feet too. He really is a nice boy and I have him trained to go into the Garage at night. I have to hide my Roosters.

Good gracious, one of my EO pullets just laid her first egg and it is Plum coloured!!! Very pretty! Is this a normal colour for these girls to lay??

Oh, not normal but maybe it has a lot of bloom on it?

The egg color is often wonky at first but you will get the normal color for them soon. I hope the color stays plum for her though.

The would be a great color.

It has what looks like a white powdery glaze and is a lovely purpley brown...... It is just impossible to get a good photo that really shows the colour. I don't have any white egg layers or I could photograph her egg up against the white ones so you could really see the" purpleyness". Pretty....

Glad everyone is enjoying their EOs! They really are such a remarkable bird. Remember to keep an eye on the SOP when breeding them- there is still a lot of diversity in their progeny! Regardless of their colour though, they are such friendly, productive birds, it is easy to love them

Can you set is on a white cloth and take a picture?
