My dominant rooster is a bad boy. He ran up and kicked me this evening. I was carrying a piece of hardware cloth while trying to lock them in (we jam a strip of hardware cloth in a weasel size crack). Maybe he thought I was threatening the hens, but it was really bad timing on his part, since we have an appointment with the butcher tomorrow.

If he does not behave perfectly in the morning, I'll be adding him to the cage. I really want to keep this rooster, but I'm questioning my judgement now. :/

Oh no.. Or maybe it was good timing, in the long run. I hope he doesn't blow it! Good luck.

Hi guys,

I'm in Northern California. I have 5 5 1/2 month olds from ronott1. I also have 8, 6 weeks olds not from Canada. We have 6 Pita Pintas.. Little smaller and even sweeter if you can believe it!

Happy to see people loving this breed as much as we are!

Road trip! How far are you from New London, CT ferry?  ;)

I have some young cockerals and should be able to tell leg color  on the others soon if you need one or two. I like the idea of sharing to really get the numbers up. This is such a cool bird. They're definitely my favorite.

I remember the pre-k days. I think it was harder on me than it was on them! It gets easier... :hugs

I don't know I will have to map quest it! I live near Syrause.ny

Thanks. DH really likes this rooster and wants to give him another chance. I'm the one who feeds him every day, though, so I'm not about to put up with aggression. Time will tell.
