Euskal Oiloa ( Basque Thread)

We have our first EO egg! Not a bad size for a pullet egg either. I'm so excited!!!

Wow! Congratulations!
My older flock is starting to molt and slow way down, so I'm hoping my new girls start pitching in soon. I think 6/11 have started. Only 3 are Basque, and only the one egg so far.

over in the Northern CA thread, Ron suggested i take some photos of my two 5-week-old basques this morning -- so pardon the cross-posting, but here they are:

elanor

baby (with a few other chicks)

elanor's feathering

baby again

from the info Ron shared with me, baby is likely a little boy, which is a pity, as i'm not keeping any roos -- but he's certainly handsome! and i absolutely LOVE elanor, she's by far the friendliest and bravest chick i've had yet!

Your chicks look just like mine lawatt. Very cute. I think your boy is a little lighter than mine but he does have really nice yellow legs and beak unlike mine who has white legs and a lighter beak.

If you don't want to keep him, ill definitely be willing to give him a home.

Mike.

you're on! unless he's very very quiet (and given the volume of his peeping noises, that's unlikely to say the least -- he's named Baby both because he was the smallest chick but also ear-splittingly loud!!), i won't be keeping him, and would love him to go to a good home -- he's too handsome for freezer camp!

Hi guys! Haven't been on in a while but wanted to say hi and show you my little flock! My boyfriend's mom came up to help (he broke his leg an had two surgeries last week) so I had a chance to snap a few pictures. Here are some of my 7 1/2 week old Marraduna Basques and Pita Pintas.

I'm glad to hear everyone is doing well! It's awesome to see such love for this Spanish breed!
