Two girls and a boy so far. One out of the breeder quality pen and two from the pet quality.

too cute! I hope they do well!

Well, one of the babies died shortly after posting my last picture. I ended up with a boy and a girl.

I had a goose setting on eggs and she hatched five out of six eggs yesterday (one was a dud). Unfortunately one of the ganders got ahold of the first baby and threw it around and broke it's little leg and she died this morning around 5 am.

But little mama goose has four babies now and hasn't come out of the nest box yet......

I put food and water inside of it for her and she drank quite a bit of water yesterday. I've never had any experience letting the mama's raise their babies. Should I net over the kennel and keep her locked in for a couple of weeks???

Thanks,

Well, I ended up taking the babies away from the goose. She smothered one of them and now we are down to three......

The remaining goslings are all doing well.

I think I will be hatching my eggs under broodies from now on. They all hatched with no problems and none got stuck or died in the shell from too much humidity. While I watched her set, I did notice that the nest and the eggs were really dry.
