Just wondering if it's normal beh:/aviour for quail to lay eggs after dark?
I have hens and they usually lay early morning , just wonded if it's only mine or if that is the nature of the bird.

I think quail usually lay their eggs during the afternoon, but I could be wrong. Don't know how common deviations are.

They will lay whenever the feeling hits them, atleast with Coturnix. They seem to just pop it out Middle night, or any other time.

My quail tend to lay at about 5pm but they don't keep a tight schedule :)

I love their egg screeches lol! I can't tell if it's "look at me I'm laying an egg!" or "leave me alone I'm laying an egg!" :p

...Mine started with a four to six timeframe, but it quickly tightened up to 5.pm. every single day....

Binki, have you ever noticed that the sound they make sounds just like when you were a kid and let the air out of a balloon really slowly? eeeeEEEEEE.....lol...
