I blew it. Forgot to go to HD last night ans went this evening. My two freebie guys weren't there today, so all the plywood they were supposed to put aside wasn't there. I did get to go through the throw outs though.

I've been having a hard time getting my hands to do what I need them to, so I think I grabbed enough small pieces that I need to brace the top frame. For some reason I thought I had cut them and hadn't. Also got lots of trim, so I can use it to frame around the hardware cloth. I also picked up some pieces that I need to measure to see what I actually got, but they looked like they might work for the bottom of a hoop coop, so I bought 5 pieces of PVC and had them cut and bought all my connectors. Came to $9.08, so not too bad and since I haven't found any of that anywhere for free so I can live with it.

I also ordered some nipple waterers tonight, so I can get started on setting up my feeding stations. I got 3 big containers at the auction a few months ago and haven't even bothered to take them out of the bags they came in. Don't know what size they are, but way over 10 gallons I think.

I had a little problem with wire. We had bought a lot of hardware cloth when we first moved in. I even have a small roll still in the package, but it's like 3x5, so almost nothing. I bought it to make some doors and never did them. Bill has a friend nearby that usually has a ton of chicken wire. I'm thinking I can do these with the chicken wire (if he'll still give it to me) and then put hardware wire around the bottom. Just can't buy anything that expensive right now, but I do try to buy something since I get all the free wood and don't want to just walk in for that.

I intended to buy cinder blocks when I went, but forgot them. Think it's for the better since I need to buy something when I go back for the throwouts.

I did a test run and with the PVC and connectors and wow..........didn't think it would be this big. I think I can actually make 2 and use then for some bantams or I can make it the full size and it might be good to use for my games.

Still haven't been able to fix the drill

My arm, hands and shoulder still hurt from using a hack saw for all the wood parts and that new circular saw looks too intimidating to me. I've used lots of power tools, but never one of those and not sure I want to. We'll see.

Ur on the right track with the nipple waterers. Will keep ur area dry. As for a feeder I use An ice cream bucket that I cut holes in the sides at the bottom and then bolted a frisbee to catch feed for chicks to eat from. I hang it up using the handle on top. The lid keeps the chicks from messing in it.

I have a couple of those as well as buckets and planter liner feeders.

I really need to have them set up for a lot more space though. I'm thinking PVC feeders that are fillable from outside of the tractors.

These are all pretty much on the smallish side, but I have a couple of reasons why I need to do them that way. For one, this area is known for people stealing chickens. They even stole my grand daughter's baby goat while I was making her a bottle. Went back out and she was gone. I'm going with the out of sight out of mind way of thinking.

Haven't worked on anything the past couple of days. Been achy and tired and had a dentist appointment today, so I'm reasting a bit.
