I do like the suggestion to offer her a birthday lunch, see how it goes and then if they hit it off, they can make plans for a real date. Yes, I like that. Maybe Des will speak up, she is a young girl and can tell us if it is a good idea. You don't want to go too overboard with a gift, just a nice thinking of you kind of thing. I like the pizza/lunch suggestion!

I don't know why they changed their mind on releasing her. I know they are slowing taking things away from her like her heart monitor, catheter and all that garb. Maybe they have a few more tests to run to make sure things are still going okay. But, as far as I know, there haven't been any set backs.

I am glad Lindsie didn't have any setbacks. I am sure oyu are right they just want to monitor things a while longer. I was surprised they were going to release so quickly after having her trach removed anyway. They warned us about infection strongly in Raymond and he wasnt even going home, just to another hospital for rehab. Also he couldn't talk for almost 2 weeks after it was removed, but he did have his longer. Have they removed her feeding tube then? I am assuming it was in her stomach? Raymond came home with his in, he was eating but I still had to pump Pediasure in to it and flush it out every night. That poor girl is going to be so glad to get the hell out of there!!

Ok I will tell Raymond we took a vote and he should invite her to lunch for her B day!!

I am not sure they have removed the trach or feeding tube yet. I heard her mom talk about having to take care of them at home. I thought it was a bit too early to release too.

I would love to tell you it gets better, but it doesn't! All you can do now is pray for the age of 20!
