I just got an email from my SIL in New Mexico. She has been trying to talk her husband in to letting her have chickens for a couple of years now. She says, she already cleans up dog and horse poop why not chicken poop too?!

Wow, sounds like a great day. Tell Kenny I said he's the Man by getting the chickens home to you.

Really Michelle, Jasper needs a blog with pictures and all. In fact you need to test it out and show us some pics of the Jasper going bedy by

Soooooooooooooo ... begs the question.

WHAT did you DO with the shriveled up little mountain oysters, Michelle???

Sorry Michelle, you know I love ya!!

I had forgotten all about that. I had just joined this group round that time so you can imagine how that sounded not knowing how special Jasper was to the family lol.

Tanya--I think it is great that you will finally get your new chickens! How exciting!! If my calculations are correct, I may have baby ducklings by the end of the weekend. I keep checking. And worrying. And wondering how many there will be.

Robin--I will consider the blog thing. It might be kinda fun.

Anyone notice some of our posts are gone? I thought this thread was up to 15000 post by now but now it is back down to 12000 something. Just curious if it is me or did it really happen?

I did finally throw them away, but not without proudly telling everyone when he lost them! Thankfully most people understand. But may I make a correction that they were found in the bedroom by his kennel, not the yard. However, I did hunt around the yard before I found them balled up in a towel! And yes, Elizabeth stepped into that convo just a little lost.

SNORT. I'm not so sure about that.

I'd say it's more like I grew the grain to make the cake, then ground the grain to make the flour to make the cake, made the cake, made the frosting, frosted the cake, but I can't eat cake all that often and can't sample the cakes that other people make.

Seriously, there are some advantages--plenty of them. However, there are also the limitations that come with a single-parent (for the most part), single-income life. It also means we pay a lot higher income taxes.
