He texted me Monday after school and asked if he could apply and I told him I didn't care. He picked up the application, we helped him fill it out and he was called that night to start yesterday. He asked if he wait until today since he had stuff already lined up last night and they said yes. He was not looking, but his friend Justin works there and said they were looking for workers. He will be a delivery driver/dishwasher and occasional pizza maker. He has always been money driven and looks at this as an opportunity to put more money in his pocket. He did tell me something about discounted pizza, but I don't have the details yet. He said they are looking at 5 nights a week, but I don't know how that will work out!
The other day I saw a young boy call his mother outside of a pizza place, "Mum mum I got the job I got the job!!!" he was about to fricken cry!! I was so happy to see how happy he was. I even heard, "I promise I will work hard!" from him. It brought a cheer to my step to see teenagers these days so happy to have some work!
I'm glad he's got a job!! It'll be super beneficial to all things!
My husband was a money driven young boy - ended up with his first house at 19.
Colton has always been a hard worker and very money driven. Other than working for a guy with a tree trimming service some last summer, he hasn't ever held a "real" job. He does odds and ends for my boss (our neighbor) and others that ask him and he has been doing some automotive repair of his own to earn extra cash. It will be really interesting to see how he does. He is one that likes to be active, so confining him to a kitchen might not work out so great, but I am sure he will give it a shot! At least he gets to get out and do some deliveries!
I was just going over his paperwork, apparently we get a 20% discount. Excellent!
