Ever feel lonely when you dont have any PM's waiting for you?

Good afternoon everyone. LOVE the greenhouse!! I have Irish ancestry too Tex, and hubby has Scottish. I've been working on tracing our ancestry a LOT lately. I'm sooo jealous about y'all takin a vacation to Ireland, I've always wanted to go there. Grandson's are back with their Mom, it was a nice visit but I'm really enjoying the quiet now

That'd be really neat for you. My Mom has done most of our research, she started when my lil sis was about 3. Ed's line is the Dunlap line, they even have a castle over there

The ruins of Dunboy Castle ..

Where my 14th (I think) grandfather was defeated in battle by is stupid cousin who aided the Brits in penetrating the castle .. it was DESTROYED.. He then fled with 1000 men, women and children across Ireland in the dead of winter.. many village folk were afraid to help them because of the Brit rulers .. so when they got to a safe place, there were only 35 left out of that 1000.

It's a miracle I'm here at all, huh?

I found one lone line of mine ... way back .. that in from Germany..

Mostly England.

But nothing draws me like that Irish line .. maybe because it's the straight paternal line..

Born a Sullivan .. and Sullivans all the way back to before they even used surnames..

It pulls at me .. powerfully.

Very interesting Tex! My mom and aunt did alot of research also. Let me see if I can recite this right.... We are related to Abraham Lincoln's uncle's wife and also we are related to Dr Mudd who repaired John Wilkes Booth's leg. That's a weird connection, huh.

LOL .. right??

I'm actually thinking that it was MY grandfather (Owen) who sided with England and helped take the castle from Donal (who had to march across Ireland) ... oops.. I have to go refresh my memory!!
