Well I am taking Bessy to the vet today. I noticed Monday night she threw up -- grass. She was chipper and all seemed fine. She ate her supper and drank water. Tuesday morning or evening she did not eat or drink anything (at least from what I could tell, not real sure what she did while i was at work). Wednesday same thing. I gave her a dog biscuit and she ate that in the morning. She had loud gut sounds, so I gave her some Kaopectate, after I gave the Kaopectate she started trembling. I checked her and she seemed to have a fever (around 6:30) I had to go out for a bit and while I was out i bought some Children's Tylenol and gave her about 2.5 cc's. That seemed to reduce the fever. I knew she wasn't feeling any better when she didn't come to wake me up this morning. she is alert, I offered her canned dog food and more water and she didn't want either. She did not poop or pee this morning she just sat and looked around. She tries to feel better and wags her tail, but I know it's not her, she is usually really busy. When she pooped last night i gathered a sample just in case. It was grassy. I noticed too that early Wednesday morning 4:00 i took her out and she went to grass to eat. So I know it has something to do with her gut.
I decided to take her to vet this morning and just have them look her over before the weekend. She just isn't her little Bessy self.
Nat, I was not able to have children, so I can only imagine what this must be like for you (you too Tanya). But the hardest things for you to do is in most cases the best for your little ones. Kind of like tough love -- you know it the best for them even though it rips your heart out. Start saving your pennies now so you can fly out to see her as much as you want.

Robin--I do hope Bessy feels so much better and the vet finds what's wrong with her
Dogs are like my children too!!!! It is hard letting go-but I was thinking I had time to think about it-at least another year -I never would have thought she'd be interested in leaving ASAP!!! xoxox
for you for self-medicating your dog! Tylenol in dogs and cats ---> hepatic necrosis ---> dead liver ---> dead dog. The dose you gave her is probably not toxic, but there's a reason we tell people not to self-medicate their pets...it's not to make you buy stuff from us and make us rich! Ok, getting off my soapbox now.
We have a sick pet this morning too. Henry the guinea pig is not feeling well. Here in small town USA it is almost impossible to find a vet to care for him, but I am trying!! At this point I would self medicate, but I have no idea where to even start!!
As far as Colton goes, he is an 18 year old boy in love, ready to graduate. And a pain in my butt!!

Cockers are the worst about ear infections b/c of their floppy hairy ears...ugh. If it gets really bad sometimes we even do ear canal ablations so they can't get infected any more. Try giving him some Benadryl...it might calm him enough for you to get his feet done. Otherwise ask your vet for some acepromazine...it's wonderful stuff!
Michelle - I PM'ed Des...sounds like a tooth abscess to me.

Give me the low down -he's 32 lbs-how much do I give him?? how long after I give it to him can I try-when I see him drunk LOL
