hey girls..wanted to say hello and good monday morning before you slipped in! LOL...Its cool and breezy here-loving it for once!!! Hope you ladies had a fantastic weekend--I finally got my frizzles well I will in 3 weeks or so-I have to travel 2 1/2 -3 hours to get them but thats fine we are taking kids to an amusement park the day before and spend the night in that town-then snag birds and head home-awesome!!!- woo-hoo-- and My eggs should hatch tomorrow or Tuesday--I only have a few eggs left that will hopefully hatch out I have missed you guys horribly during the work week-I hope this week at work will be calmer and all my staff is there...

Good Monday Morning!

I officially have a very empty bedroom as of this weekend! I had to go to my daughter's room to find clothes this morning! All we have is the bed in there right now, but can't start sheet rocking until the kids get back home from Indiana this weekend. Mama cat is very unhappy she didn't have a place to hide her kittens in there anymore, so she is pouting in another room with them. I keep joking with my husband telling him to be sure to build a nursery in one of the closets for her! I also got my hallway repainted again. This time it was the exact color I wanted!

Glad you are getting your frizzles and a nice little mini vacation along with it! How many children do you have and how old?

Good morning! Well, we took our peachicks to a friend of ours to raise. They were getting too big for the cage and I really didn't have anywhere safe for them to be. I hated letting them go but it was best for them soooooo..... The gal that has them now has lots of birds. Pheasants, guinneas, turkeys, ducks, little baby frizzles (they look like little poof balls!) and a young peacock she hatched from an egg we gave her last year! She has a great setup. When she gets a female old enough, we will bring her home for Harry so he will not be lonely! Her turkeys are so tame they fly up and sit on your shoulder! They are very young still. She has all different kinds of chickens. I told her about BYC but she lives in the boonies and has no internet. Too bad. You guys would love her.
She mentioned to me about mixing hot sauce? with vasoline to put on my hens to keep them from pecking each other when they roost. You guys ever heard of that?

Peacocks are something I would love to have but we don't have a large safe place for them to be either, so I just go look at the ones a friend has. She has lost all her peahens, so if you know where we can get some adult girls cheap, I would like to get her some. She is an older lady and one heck of a spry woman!

I haven't heard of the hot sauce thing, but I guess it could work. It is supposed to work for egg eating so I don't think it will hurt them any.

Hasn't this weather been just beautiful?

Thanks for the link! Looks like the Liberty area, so that would be really handy to even go there and look around. I don't know much about caring for them and like you, no place to keep them, but they sure are beautiful!

I am loving this weather. Haven't even had the air conditioning on for a few days! And, lunch in the park without sweating! We will probably pay for it in August though, but I will enjoy it as long as it lasts!

I am not liking everything tore up but pretty excited to get it done! Mama cat is the one who is lost! lol She really wants to raise those kittens in my room! I am stressing over colors, I keep changing my mind on what I want. I told a friend of mine to narrow it down or I am just going to have to buy what I like when I pick it up I guess. lol

Is your day starting pretty good or busy like last one? Our boss is gone again for 3 days this week, so we will see how it goes.

yes a little busy again--A little more background info on why-We got a grant for the construction of a new facility, which will be my building to take over when completed-All of my employees will work in it. The building has been built but the fine details are still getting done before it has to be commisioned. Its a bazillion details everyday that needs decisions-that's where I come in with alot of others. We should be open for work in late fall-so Im stressed alot is riding on my staff to learn and follow through.

and good morning everyone! I have finally found a place to buy
a home mixed layer ration as well as a home mixed scratch feed that includes sunflower seeds

The best part on top of that is the fact that it's almost $3.00 cheaper per 50lb bag

My birds will love the new feed! The layers mix is more than just layer mash, it has lots of goodies for calcium & vitamins.
How was everyones weekend? Mine was fair!
