I am so sorry you lost another turkey
I hope the red bulb does the trick.
The weather seems to have forgotten that it is May. I had to shovel snow away from the barn door to check on my cats this morning! I was so worried about the Three Stooges ( my guineas
)because its 29 degrees outside. I just came from their house though and they are all toasty and doing just fine! Still no more pips, it looks as though Teeny might be an only child. We are going to the city on friday so we will see if the feed store has any more babies
He needs a sister.
We weren't all that impressed with Idol last night either. Kenny doesn't care for that style of music at all. I am just old enough that I recognized a couple of the songs. Harry was a kick though, wasn't he! I really like him as an actor and he has a fun personality. I don't listen to his music though. Do you have any guesses on who may be going home? Before I would have said Mike but they loved him last night.
I am kinda like you guys with Idol. Not my cup of tea either. The way they talked last night, Casey may be in trouble. I hope all our texting pays off for us though. My fingers almost fell off in those 2 hours!
I can't believe the weather you are getting! Now I am worried about the weatherman saying that whatever brews in Montana comes to Missouri!
I remember a huge April snow when Colton was younger, but never a May one, so we may be okay.
I am so sorry Teeny is alone, I was really hoping more would hatch. Nothing at all from the little eggs? I haven't even seen guineas around here for sale this spring. But, while I was out yesterday I noticed they got in all kinds of turkeys. Usually they just have the white and bronze ones, but they had 3 or 4 other varieties there too. Very tempting, but I knew I had to get the ones we had under control and although I could use the other brooder, 3 going right now is plenty to keep us busy. Feeding time at our house is taking longer and longer as the zoo grows! Thank goodness everyone pitches in!!
So, Tonna just lives a few miles up the road from me and she has a visitor. A mountain lion!
She was telling me this Sunday and that her children thinks she is nuts, but I believe her. I have heard them before. She saw it when she went out on her porch that morning and had heard it several times before that. Her hubby finally admitted to seeing paw prints in the snow this winter but didn't want to scare her. Now her guineas are gone! She found feathers right along where there are big cat prints in the mud. Now, this is RIGHT by her driveway, house and shed. Pretty brave kitty if you ask me! Is it bad that I want to go up there and try to see it so I can take pics? I love big kitties!
A mountain lion! Oh her poor Guineas. Tell her I'm sorry. I know they can be brave cats. When I lived in Havre there was one spotted just 2 blocks away from me over by my sisters house. IN TOWN! We sort of lived on the edge but not right on the edge. If you go to take pictures take your son with you, and make sure he is packing
I hope all of your texting helps Casey too. I have a feeling the big winner may be Lee. What do you think?
If I can't find any keets in GFs friday I will only have 4, providing they all make it. If that is the case I will most likely try hatching or buy a few more next year. If you don't mind, let me know if and when your s start laying, maybe I can talk Kenny into letting me try one more hatch this year
