Ever feel lonely when you dont have any PM's waiting for you?

I'd be making HIM do the soaking, spraying, and washing of those uniforms. But then, I'm the mean mother who made my son learn to do laundry as soon as he could reach the machine. (I do most of his laundry now, but he has to do almost all the dishes. I'd rather do laundry...)

He is good about doing his own football stuff, but I really didn't want him to even attempt to get these clean. I don't usually require him to do much housework except keep his room clean, put away his clothes, take out the trash. He does a lot of outdoor stuff and errands for me, so I am thankful for that!

Time to make Michelle jealous.

The babies are being darned cute! This batch loves my hand too. It was the first thing two of them saw that moved, ROFL, so they imprinted on me (or probably on my hand...) The third one saw one of the other chicks first. It follows my hand around too, but not quite as fast as the others.

You should see them curling up with those stuffed animals. They were laying in the ears of the cat toy mouse earlier. It was really funny. Too bad my camera was upstairs!

Oh, I understand. Way too expensive to risk it, too, I'm sure!

Yep, but I sure was willing to shell out the $15 for new socks instead of working on those! One of the boys told his Mom right before the game started that his socks were stolen so he was just wearing short ones. She told him she would buy him a new pair. I told her it was a blessing that she didn't have those to wash!!

I can't even begin to imagine why someone would steal his socks!

Either someone knew it would be that muddy, so they took his to wear instead or my better guess is that he has misplaced them. I would tend to lean toward the second suggestion. (remember that he is Terry's son!

They need a really high protein feed. Game bird feed or a nonmedicated turkey feed is best. I read that the babies should be fed feed with 30% protein. That is simply not available here. In fact, I have a terribly difficult time just finding game bird food or turkey food here at all. I can get little 5 pound sacks at tractor supply. They cost a fortune. I did find a place 30 miles from here where I can get game bird food, at least. That's about $15 for 50 pounds. That's what I feed the adults. It's 24% protein. I feed the more expensive stuff from Tractor Supply to the babies.

You have to use an electric coffee grinder (or something similar) to grind up the food for the babies to something close to the texture of cornmeal. The crumbles are FAR too big for them to eat, otherwise.

You also would want quail waterers for them. Get the flat marbles from the craft section and put them in the water trough, even with the narrow quail waterers. Quail babies are especially susceptible to dying if they get wet. Button quail babies are worse and can drown in even the smallest amount of water. Chick waterers are way too big. You could drown a hundred quail babies in one of those.
